Hi, I’m Hamid Norasi, a UX/UI designer grounded in human factors.
Clarity first. Simplicity follows.
I’m a UX/UI designer with a background in human factors and applied research, focused on designing clear, usable experiences for complex systems. My work spans usability testing, workflow analysis, and interaction design, with experience in healthcare, digital tools, and educational interfaces. I approach design through evidence, thoughtful problem framing, and close collaboration with stakeholders.
What I Focus On

Background & Path
Now
I’m focused on UX/UI design and research, building end-to-end case studies and refining my portfolio around research-driven, human-centered design.
Recently
I worked on human-centered research and usability projects at Mayo Clinic, contributing to digital tools, clinical workflows, and educational interfaces. Projects such as OR-Stretch, MarginDx, and surgeon-focused learning materials increasingly centered on usability, interaction clarity, and design decision-making.
Earlier
My background is in human factors, ergonomics, and applied research, including academic research and teaching at Iowa State University. This foundation shaped how I approach design problems with evidence, structure, and respect for real-world constraints.
Education & Credentials
• Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering (Human Factors & Statistics)
• Google UX Design Professional Certificate
• Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE)
• Professional Photography Certification - New York Institute of Photography (NYIP)
Selected research publications are available via Google Scholar.
How I Work
I approach UX/UI design by grounding decisions in evidence and context. I focus on understanding users and constraints first, then designing interactions that reduce complexity and support real-world use.
• Start with user needs, context, and constraints before proposing solutions
• Prefer evidence and usability findings over assumptions
• Design for clarity and simplicity in complex systems
• Collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and stakeholders

Outside of work, I explore photography as a way to study light, composition, and visual clarity.
I’m always open to conversations about UX, research, and thoughtful design.
